Karmen Pedaru was born on 10 May 1990 in Kehra, Estonia. Born into an athletic family, Pedaru became interested in sports at a very early age. From the time she was six, Pedaru played a variety of sports, including basketball, soccer and handball. She played goalkeeper on the Estonian national football team for a year before she quit to pursue modeling.
She was discovered in 2005, at the age of fifteen, at a drama theater in Tallinn. Shortly after, she signed with Next Models and appeared in an editorial for Teen Vogue. Her debut came when she walked for Christopher Kane during the spring 2007 season. Her big opportunity came when she walked the fall 2008 shows during New York Fashion Week. She ended up walking 43 runways.

17 year-old Dutch model Daphne Groeneveld was discovered in Amsterdam when a woman randomly approached her about starting a career. After just one year of modeling she has graced the cover of Vogue Paris with Tom Ford, walked in the Valentino, Chanel, and Dior Haute Couture shows in Paris, and received dancing lessons from Madonna for a Miu Miu ad campaign video. She lists Lara Stone and Doutzen Kroes as models she looks up to and admires.

Birth Date: October 18, 1987 
Country of origin: Denmark
Discovered on the streets of her native Denmark by a modeling agent passing by in a taxi, Erichsen made her debut as a model in 2005 at the fall Paris and Milan shows of Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Miu Miu (which she opened). 
In 2008, casting agent James Scully, said of Erichsen:
”The queen of cool. Probably one of the most-requested models of all my clients. She is the perfect old-school clothes-hanger with a little eighties androgyny thrown in.”
Erichsen has had a number of fashion items named after her, including the Jill Stuart Freja handbag, the Chloé Freja clutch, and the Alexander Wang Freja Lace-Up Stiletto Boot with Zip Detail.
